Welcome!  I am glad you decided to drop by my little spot.
How did I get into fitness?  Long, long story!  But I'll give you the cliff notes version.
I was raised in a very gendered home -- boys did "boy" things, and girls did "girly" things.  I was always a "tomboy" and caused my parents tons of headaches because skirts were just not for me.  I was always into sports and wished my parents would let me take more part in them, which never happened.
I was to become a doctor, or a lawyer, or what I came to college for, an engineer.
While in high school I became more interested in sports and, against my parents' wishes, joined the track team.  Our track coach would have us do a few sets in the weight room after practice and for me, it was love at first sight.  I was one of the few girls in the track team that really enjoyed pumping iron!  Not only that, but during those difficult teen years I became very close to my uncle.  He was really into bodybuilding and had a total gym at his house, along with free weights.  His lifestyle really rubbed off on me and to this day I credit him for being my number one inspiration for being in this sport.
In college (and away from mom and dad) I had the freedom to be more athletically involved.  I took advantage
of the many available facilities at the university by playing intramural volleyball and hitting the weight room on a regular basis. At first I did not think much of the fact that I was usually one of the few women that were in the man-filled, often intimidating weight room, but it did not take me long to realize that I was one of a kind!
Fast forward this to where I am today and I have been blessed with incredible competitive experiences, drive and discipline in the bodybuilding field.  After having my second child, I went from wanting to lose weight, to changing my diet, to completely turning my body around and ultimately competing.
I feel confident enough to say that I have gained a tremendous amount of experience from years of doing research, meeting and watching other competitors, attending and test-judging  events and of course,
competing.  I hope to return my knowledge and experience by sharing it with those who seek to reach their ultimate fitness/health goals!  Please  take a moment to browse through my other pages and check out my updates! Thank you for visiting!
